Matty Healy // Supreme Hair God |
Long, short, curly, straight, shaved or dreaded... it's there and it deserves to be talked about. I have always had considerably thick hair and as a result have often felt like a special exhibit at the Central Park Zoo thanks to many a stranger running his or her hand through it. Definitely not okay, like at all. When I was in elementary school I basically wore my hair in a pony tail (styled by Mom, shoutout to Mom, thanks Mom) every single day because it was too long and thick to wear down. In the fourth grade I decided to cut 12 inches off and donate it to Locks of Love, a fabulous organization that provides wigs to people who have lost their hair. As my hair grew back from my massive haircut, I fought the coarse texture to a stalemate. I straightened, damaged and fried my precious blonde hair for reasons beyond my current understanding. In high school it was impressively long which landed me right back in Central Park Zoo as I received daily comments on my hair. Weird times.

Since I have recently been asked what I use to style my hair I decided to share my very very simple routine with you:
- Use dime-sized amount of pure Moroccan Oil throughout damp hair after shower
- Let air dry (I shower at night so this is easy for me)
- Smooth fly-aways with got2b Defiant Pomade, Tresemme hairspray if needed
- Run fingers through while channeling 2015 Harry Styles
- Werk it
SUPER labor intensive, right? I'm not suggesting that this particular routine works for anyone but myself but I am suggesting that the haircut I have makes it possible for my hair to look presentable with minimal effort. I haven't touched a blow dryer or flat iron in about five months and I couldn't be happier about it. While I enjoy my current style, I never get too comfortable with any given look. So... email me at ashley.fashionspeak@gmail.com with all of your favorite hair products/routines so I can be inspired by your chic self.
