The Fashion Speak Playlist: The 1975

Anyone who has spent more than a couple hours with me in recent months knows just how much I love The 1975.  While I just started listening to their music this year, their self-titled album was released back in 2013. They were a band 10 years prior to releasing their album so they had already established a cohesive sound that was well-received by the public. They are the sole creators of their music, writing every lyric and producing every beat. This adds an authentic and emotional aspect to their sound which leaves listeners wanting more and more. 

I am not one of those people who goes out of their way to search for music out of the mainstream realm and I enjoy a pop anthem just as much as the next person. However, I have found The 1975 to be the perfect music for me to listen to no matter what my mood is. The songs have substance and I never find myself getting tired of listening.

Aside from their incredible music and lead singer Matty Healy's druheammmy eyes and swoon-worthy hair, their aesthetic is seriously appealing. I would love to get inside the mind of their graphic designer and director of marketing because they have absolutely mastered the art of branding.

The themes of The 1975 artwork are exactly what I imagine the inside of my brain looks like: minimalist black and white  with a healthy bit of neon pink and blue floral accents.  They're in the midst of recreating their original black and white theme with the bright pink and blue themes pictured above and below. This is all in preparation for their new album set to release this year. I am seeing them in concert this December in New York and my excitement is above and beyond anything you could possibly imagine.
